Proud of our Snowboarding Papa

A few weeks ago the Mr. took a step into the unchartered and went to invest in himself. He took 10 days, loads of motivation & interest, and committment to himself and his personal development. The kids and I stayed home and had a ridiculous amount of fun.

Since I was on my own, I didn't take many pictures of the silliness and there was a lot of silliness.

For example, we dug deep into our costume box. Everyone got dressed up, including make-up and colored hairspray. There was some very silly outfits and PJ had blue hair.

We also spent a good amount of time playing with the crafts both kids bring home from the kindergarten. This one started out for peaceful. It ended up with an epic pillow fight.

We did, however, have to deal with a dragon infestation. It was rough. And loud. And ran into a glass door. There were tears. There was drama.

Thankfully it ended well.

Which is not to say that it was all easy. I got food poisoning and was out of pocket for an entire day. Super Sophie's amazing mom came in the morning. I puked. Tante Ireland and her daughter came at lunch time. I puked. Then S-Squared came for the afternoon, evening, and IMPRESSIVELY!! bedtime. I was finally done puking.

All of them came at last minute notice. All with love, compassion, and tons of fun for the kids.

Tanta Ireland got them ice cream. Win!

Tante S- Squared taught them how to build forts. Win!
All in all, we missed our Mr. and our papa a lot. Bean's first three word sentence was:

Papa Come Home!

I even got it on video. Which brings us to the wonders of modern technology. Although papa was on top of a glacier in July, he actually wasn't all that far away. We sent videos and skyped. It was almost - but not really - enough.

Before we could all believe it (or maybe a little bit after?), the Mr. came home, accomplished and proud.

Dear papa, we are proud of you too.

Star Wars, Learning Early

I don't want to brag. But....

While my four year old hasn't been exposed to the Star Wars movies, he sure knows how to handle a lightsaber.

"Like a REAL Jedi!"
Not to brag even more. But...

My not-yet-two-year-old can turn a fish net into a lightsaber and handle it almost like a real Jedi.

Not to brag even more. But...

They can have (almost) no-contact lightsaber battles, including self-made sounds like "Woosh!" and "Bam!" and "Aargh!".

Okay, yeah, I am totally bragging.
