Hot, Hot, Hot

Man is it hot here. H.O.T. Two pieces of proof:
1. Me suffering in the heat

2. The car tempature at 7pm at night.
For the none Europeans out there, 35 degrees celsius is over 95 degrees fahrenheit.

Anyways, the real news is that Germany has again placed 3rd in the world at the World Cup! Yeah! Together we watched the game at the Mr.'s parents home. Good times had by all.

America Loses

Sadly the US lost their World Cup 2010 match over the weekend. Happily, the Mr, Professor Lambert, and I got to watch the game with some other US fans. Good times were had (mostly at the beginning) and excellent ice cream was eaten.

The oh-no face after that other team scored another goal

The OH-NO! face after that other team won.

There is no after picture. :( But, even worse, no picture of the awesome ice cream!

Bike Ride Paradise

Today was a local celebration to get people outside and on their bikes. The Mr. and I took advantage of it and enjoyed a massive bike ride in perfect weather for it: just warm enough that it wasn’t cold and still cool enough that biking keeps you just warm enough.

First we rode our bikes from our home to the local train station and took a “before” picture.

Then we enjoyed a local train ride to the city where the party started. Thank goodness for public transportation!

The fun started immediately.

We biked along the river Neckar, enjoying beautiful scenes...

....and then through open fields and little villages.

Then we stumbled upon a real treasure, in front of which I absolutely just had to pose.

Just to make sure you also get the chance to wonder in the beauty, a close up:

Then we stumbled upon a small ferry across the Neckar and hopped right on.

Finally we reached the second major city on our trip and grabbed some African food from the little festival there. With the World Cup in South Africa this year, Africa is finally in trend!

And then we got ourselves finally home - to lots and lots of water – and the “after” picture.

U! S! A! U! S! A!

The World Cup started yesterday. Today USA plays against England. At half-time the score is 1:1.

Go U! S! A!

The Mr. and I are enjoying the game at home. To support my home team, I got out my two most important football-watching-gear: flag and red wine. I even dressed up in some blue (t-shirt), white (legs), and red (sunburnt chest).

The Mr. got all dressed up too. Considering how hot it is in our apartment right now, I'm totally impressed.
